I began my career as a certified NJ elementary school teacher, and quickly realized being locked in a classroom all day with no flexibility and the inability to do things “my way” was not going to work.
I purchased my first independent business at the age of 23 in 1998, with the help of my mother, and sold the business 18 months later at a 3 times net multiple and simply said NOW WHAT!
It was during the sales process I created my exit strategy for what I was going to do at 25 yrs. old, money in the bank and not a chance in the world I would ever be an “employee” again. I made the decision after freedom and money clearly motivated me and allowed me to control my destiny, along with personal and financial freedom. It was at this point I created the FUN BUS, Fitness FUN on wheels, business that I started as an independent business, scaled it to 2 locations and began franchising in 2003. Understanding not much about franchising, it was over the next 11 years, I would grow this business into 15 states and over 40 plus units.
I had the pleasure to sell a profitable business in 2014, where to date, I am still able to work side by side with the current owner and her team.
In 2014, with still no chance I would ever be an “employee” again, it seemed natural to do what I was passionate about and what I knew worked, HELP OTHERS ACHIEVE THE SAME.
Since 2014, I have put over 200 plus people into various business and have helped people exit and sell when the time was right. This allotted me to learn a lot more about franchising on the front line and behind the scenes. I then went on to help concepts franchise and go to market, create the necessary manuals needed (most of us do not even know what we need), work side by side with attorneys to create these FDD’s, create systematic plans to launch, (emerging brands and ones more established) market and sell franchises, and most importantly, put all the pieces of the puzzle together, when a franchisor/business owner is wearing all the hats, being pulled in all different directions, and is saying to themselves if only I had……. HERE I AM!
I currently do in-house development for 3 brands, represent other resale transactions, and work with array of brands on sales, marketing, development, and just franchising to go to market.
